Good Luck Turquoise Teams & New Judging Interface

GOOD LUCK TO THE TEAMS COMPETING AT THE TURQUOISE QUALIFIER!

Good luck to all the teams competing starting today in the Turquoise Qualifier! Your tenacity and GP never cease to amaze us...we can't wait to see what you came up with. GO TEAMS!

All Teams are invited to join us for the Award Ceremony, which will be live-streamed Friday, April 2. The link will be posted to the blog!

New Judging Interface
A new feature for judging was tested for the first time at the Turquoise event! This system allows teams to access their own judging interview through the scoring system. It has a built in waiting room to check your sound and assemble your team members and screen share capability. We will be using this system for both the remaining High Country qualifier and the AZ Championship. Please familiarize yourself with it by checking out the quick start guide HERE. TIP: If possible, connect your computer directly to the internet via ethernet for a stronger connection.

IMPORTANT: School firewalls and ftc.scoring
It's important to test the scoring and judging system prior to your event. If you cannot connect on school devices or networks, chances are good that it's a permission issue. Contact your school's IT department and as them to add both firstinspires.org AND ftclive.org to your network's APPROVED list. This resolved the issue for teams that were unable to connect. Don't wait until the day of your event to test since it may be hard to get in touch with tech support on Saturdays!

PDF Tips - Getting your engineering portfolio sized to upload
As your Engineering Portfolios get more elaborate and detailed throughout the season, you may run into a size issue. Keep in mind that the size limit for uploads through the scoring system is 15 Mb. If your team is receiving an error message about file size when you try to upload your judging materials, try these helpful tips from teams:
Help! Judges Needed!
We need a lot of judges still for our last two events - High Country qualifier and AZ Championship. Each of these events is big - 24 teams for High Country and 32-35 for Championship! This means we need lots of judges to lend a hand. Please reach out to sponsors, volunteers, parents and ask them to judge. Questions? Contact Susan Garduno.

Scholarship Opportunity with Lockheed Martin

Lockheed Martin has open applications for two different scholarship opportunities for FIRST students nationwide. These scholarships provide not only financial support for vocational and four-year pathways, but also offer students the potential to connect with Lockheed Martin and become eligible for internships and full-time jobs. High school seniors and current students in postsecondary programs are eligible for both scholarships. Check out more information on this flyer and this scholarship article from the Lockheed Martin webpage.

Gameplay Pro Tip of the Week

The return rack located on the tower goal is designed to introduce rings randomly back onto the playing field. Teams should not expect to see the rings returned in the same area of the playing field each time and should account for this when working through gameplay strategies.
